Allie was pregnant and sentenced to die at Robeson shelter in N.C.when she was “rescued “and then abandoned at the local Vet when no one could pay for her care. The well intended people did not understand the meaning of rescue. Working along with the Cape Fear St. Bernard Rescue, Project Pets-SNL helped to save Allie again. She was wormed , vetted and moved to be fostered in Wilmington, N.C.. There, Allie was house trained and socialized by a skilled rescuer named Heather Crawford. She slept with a cat at Heather’s every night. After a few months of love and rehab , a healthy Allie was adopted by a young teacher who works with autistic children. When she brought Allie to class the kids loved her. Soon., they were telling Allie things they would never say to a human. She is still going to work at the school, as a highly valued assistant. Allie has shown a lot of patience with the kids and it works wonders for them. This girl is a role model for all homeless dogs.
